Portrait of Greg, N2 System Administrator
Hello Greg, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hi, I’m Greg Mauceri and I’m a N2 System Administrator. My role is to install and maintain our customers’ infrastructures. I also take care of tickets escalated by level 1 as well as training new employees.
What is your professional background?
Having trained in accounting and wishing to reorientate myself in the world of IT, I was lucky enough to obtain an internship at DFI service. This internship allowed me to discover this binary world and to confirm my desire to continue in this direction. At the end of my internship, I was hired by DFI service SA as a N1 support agent, 6 years ago.
Why did you choose DFi ?
Because of my background, I don’t know who chose whom From the beginning of my internship, I felt the passion of my colleagues for their work, making me want to discover more and more. And today, the passion is still there.
What do you like most about your job?
What I like about my job is that no two days are ever the same. The world of IT is constantly changing: there are always new practices and technologies, and this forces us to keep up to date. Teamwork is also very important because no one has all the knowledge and there are always several ways to respond to a request.
What was a typical day for you?
In my job, there is no such thing as a typical day and every challenge is unique. Every day, I am faced with new challenges in responding to our clients’ problems or requests. These requests can be very varied and concern internet lines, telephony, emails, DNS, SSL certificates or simply intervention on a workstation or server.
A project that makes you proud?
The biggest project I worked on was the redesign of the internal documentation for Level 1 support as well as contributing to the development of a training system for newcomers to DFI as an L1 agent.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Sociable, serious and curious.
What do you do when you are not working?
I like to relax in front of a good TV show or challenge friends to video games . I also like to play sports, do video or music editing, fly a drone as well as travel and discover new things or ways of thinking.
What did you want to do as a child?
When I was a child I wanted to be a fighter pilot.
